What is PNWSDF?

PNWSDF or the PNW Stompede Dance Festival is a 3 Day Country Bar Convention with workshops, social dancing, and competitions! With instructors from around the nation we will have workshops on Country Swing, Line Dance, Two Step, and West Coast Swing!

How far is the airport from the venue?

The airport is a 30 minute drive from the venue.

Is there lodging at the venue?

No, there aren’t overnight accommodations at the venue but there are multiple hotel options within a 10 minute drive of the venue. The official hotel is the Doubletree by Hilton - Portland/Tigard at $109 per night!

Will there be a bar at the venue?

Yes! During the evening socials there will be both a bar & food on site!

Is PNWSDF all ages friendly?

Yes! We just ask that kids under the age of 16 have a parent or guardian on site!

Am I allowed to bring food into the venue?

Outside food and beverages will be allowed during the day, during the evening social outside food will not be allowed, as food will be available for purchase. No outside alcohol at any time.

What is the parking situation?

There is a parking map located on the website. There is a parking lot at the venue, street parking throughout the neighborhood, and a couple community lots where you can park. If you have any questions or concerns about where you parked ask us at registration!

Are competitions self-placed?

Yes! We are asking dancers to self place within the levels of beginner, intermediate and advanced. You can find a guide to self placement located on our competition information page.

Will there be a place to store my belongings?

Ballrooms are outfitted with benches that open to allow for storage, as well as room underneath for bags, shoes, jackets, etc.

Where will scores be posted?

On the website, social media, and physically posted in the Blue Room.

Are day passes or spectator passes available?

Yes, start 12/3 we will have Friday, Saturday & Sunday Day Passes available and social dancing/spectator passes!

Any West Coast Swing or Two Step Competitions?

Not this year, but we are opening to expanding our competition offerings for future seasons!

When will the schedule be released?

Schedule updates will start on 12/15.

Will there be a lunch & dinner break?

Yes on Friday & Saturday we will have a lunch and dinner break. On Sunday we will just have a dinner break due to the later start.

When can you get into the venue?

Doors will open at 9am.

How late will social dancing go?

2AM Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Code of Conduct 

General Behavior

  • All attendees are expected to treat others with respect and courtesy at all times.

  • Discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behavior based on gender, race, sexuality, age, or ability will not be tolerated.

  • Physical or verbal harassment of any kind is grounds for removal.

Intoxication & Substance Use

  • Individuals may be removed for signs of intoxication that pose a safety concern.

  • Illegal substances are strictly prohibited at all venues.

Personal Conduct & Boundaries

  • Consent is required for all physical contact — social or partnered.

  • Respect personal space, physical boundaries, and refusals to dance.

  • Repeated unwanted attention or touching will not be tolerated.

Sportsmanship & Competition Etiquette

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct, including but not limited to aggressive behavior, verbal abuse, or disrespect toward staff, judges, or fellow competitors, is not allowed.

  • Dancers must follow competition rules and judge instructions at all times.

Event & Staff Respect

  • Follow all directions from event staff, security, and volunteers.

  • Disrespect toward staff or disruption of event operations may result in removal.

Media & Content Use

  • By attending, participants acknowledge that photos and video may be captured for promotional purposes.

  • Any personal media content should be captured respectfully and without disruption.

Wristbands & Access

  • All attendees must wear appropriate wristbands and have valid credentials for access to specific areas.

  • Wristbands must be visible at all times.

Consequences

  • Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in verbal warnings, removal from the event, disqualification from competitions, or permanent bans from future events — at the discretion of the organizers.
